International Day of Nowruz was celebrated at the European Parliament for the first time

On March 17, 2015, the International Day of Nowruz celebration, jointly organized by the European Parliament, Embassies of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, India in Belgium, UNESCO Office to the EU, was held at the European Parliament. The event brought together members of the European Parliament, representatives of EU institutions, members of diplomatic corps accredited in Belgium.

Congratulation letter of the President of the European Parliament to the participant countries was read on his behalf. Both in the letter of the President of the European Parliament and in the  speeches of the MEPs, made during the event, Nowruz was mentioned as an event contributing to multiculturalism and dialogue between civilizations.

Azerbaijan`s stand at the event demonstrated national dishes, as well as books and brochures on the country`s tourism potential, and Baku 2015 First European Games.
